Harare, Zimbabwe – Celebrated Zimbabwean musician Nutty-O delivered a powerful message of resilience and purpose to young entrepreneurs and aspiring artists at the Zimbabwean International Youth Trade Fair and Conference in Harare on Friday.
The event, held under the theme “We are the Future, The future is now,” provided a platform for the artist to reflect on his decade-long journey in the music industry and offer guidance to the next generation.
Marking his 10th year in music, Nutty-O emphasized his continued relevance and growth despite significant changes in the Zimbabwean and global entertainment landscape. He candidly shared the initial discouragement he faced when starting his career.
“When I started this music thing, I had a different vision and a different approach,” he recalled. “So many times I never met anyone who could tell me that whatever it is that you want to achieve is possible here in Zimbabwe.”
He lamented the prevalent narrative that success in certain markets was unattainable due to perceived limitations, a sentiment he still encounters.
Despite the challenges, Nutty-O remains steadfast in his ambitions. “As much as I am where I am right now, I still have stages I haven’t been to and I want to go there, but I’m not gonna give up,” he declared, underscoring his unwavering determination.
His core message to the youth was one of self-discovery and perseverance. “My advice to everybody in here is listening to the youth especially you have time to figure out yourself,” he urged. “When you finally decide to follow your purpose, life begins.” He acknowledged the arduous nature of this path, stating, “The process of fulfilling your purpose is not easy. It’s difficult. You have to be disappointed, you have to be hurt because all of these are good propellers, they are good transporters to your purpose.”
Nutty-O’s address resonated deeply with the young audience, encouraging them to embrace challenges as stepping stones toward their aspirations and to pursue their dreams relentlessly, regardless of external doubts.
