Msindo Demands Ubuntu in Society, Slams Critics for “Cancerous” Negativity Against President Mnangagwa

Dr. Rev. Obedia Msindo, the Founding President of the Destiny of Afrika Network (DANet), has issued a powerful critique of the rampant negativity and “verbal violence” directed at President Emmerson Mnangagwa, urging Zimbabweans to return to the core cultural value of Ubuntu—respect for one’s leaders.

In his remarks, Msindo labeled the ongoing criticism a “cancerous Problem in the Country,” arguing that the constant barrage of negative attacks against the Head of State is both culturally destructive and spiritually dangerous.

The Curse of Negativity and Verbal ViolenceMsindo did not mince words when addressing the problem, stating that Zimbabwe, despite its natural blessings and peace-loving people, is afflicted by a bad practice of verbal violence, particularly on social media.

“Zimbabweans must learn that cursing the President an anointed one from God is good as cursing yourself.”

Drawing a powerful parallel to the biblical story of Moses, Msindo cautioned that just as the negativity of the liberated Israelites caused them to wander in the desert for 40 years, the current widespread condemnation of the elected leader of the Second Republic is hindering the nation’s progress.

He firmly stated that such behavior attracts curses and that God does not allow for such attacks on different platforms.

President Mnangagwa: A Father to the NationThe DANet President insisted that the critique of the President must be viewed through the lens of traditional Zimbabwean culture, where respect for elders is paramount.

Cultural Mandate: Msindo stressed that “In our culture President Mnangagwa is a Father.”

Restoring Ubuntu: He made a direct appeal to restore ubuntu, emphasizing that even the democratic process does not excuse citizens from this fundamental value.

Maintaining Integrity: He taught that even if one must differ from an elder—like a father-in-law—their integrity and respect must be maintained.Msindo warned that being perpetually negative against leaders means citizens will never acknowledge the good being done.

He expressed concern for the youth, who he believes will “end up nowhere with such behavior,” calling the critics “rogue elements” who do not know how to appease their leaders.

Respect as the Path to National Blessings

For Dr. Msindo, respect for the country’s leadership is a prerequisite for national success and divine favor.

“If we want blessings in this country we must learn to respect our leaders and it’s a fact.”

He advised youths to respect the President’s office, regardless of age difference, so that they may “get blessings from Heaven.”

He further encouraged aspiring future leaders to follow the example of loyalty, citing the President’s long service before God ordained him to lead.

Msindo’s concluding message was a call to cease the negative crusade and embrace a culture of respect for elders, the President, the Presidium, and traditional Chiefs, stressing the importance of rallying behind the President for the economic prosperity of future generations.
