A Look at First Lady’s Glamorous Gastronomy DinnerHarare, Zimbabwe — State House was the scene of glitz and cultural celebration this Friday as the Patron of Tourism, Her Excellency the First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, hosted a themed Cultural Gastronomic Dinner.
Graced by President Cde Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, the event was a powerful, practical showcase for Zimbabwe’s vibrant Culture and Heritage Tourism Cluster.
The prestigious gathering served a dual purpose: honouring partners of the Angel of Hope Foundation and demonstrating exactly how Zimbabwe’s rich traditions, cuisine, fashion, and heritage can be harnessed to create immersive and memorable tourism experiences under the national #ZimBho campaign.
National Fabric and Traditional Feasting
The evening was a visual feast, starting with the guests themselves, who arrived adorned in the vibrant National Fabric. This attire instantly transformed State House into a breathtaking tapestry of colour, reflecting the deep diversity of Zimbabwe’s cultural identity.
A captivating Fashion Show further highlighted the creativity and versatility encapsulated within the National Fabric, elevating local design onto the national stage. In true Gastronomic fashion, the dining experience celebrated indigenous food culture.
Guests were treated to an exquisite array of traditional vegetable delicacies, including much-loved, authentic dishes such as Kasunika and Mubvandadya.
All dishes were meticulously prepared using indigenous ingredients, underscoring the sustainability and unique flavour profile of Zimbabwean cuisine.
Adding to the authenticity, the famous Seven-Day brewed traditional beer quickly emerged as a favourite, delighting guests with its cultural significance and robust flavour.
