The 2026 CBZ Debate and Public Speaking Tournament will take place from 3rd to 4th of July at Dominican Convent as the host School – CBZ as the title sponsor.
Speaking at a press conference held yesterday, Dominican Convent School Head Sr. Kudzai Mutsure said the tournament highlights the remarkable progress on the participation of schools across the country.
“This tournament has become one of the highlights of our school’s calender and we are delighted to host our 3rd Edition.”
“The tournament was first introduced in 2004, where 11 schools took part in the tournament. This saw more than 20 schools joining the tournament in 2025.”
The tournament has also evolved from just a mere debate into a tournament that encompasses the aspect of public speaking.
“What began as a debate has evolved into a debate and public speaking tournament, reflecting our commitment to developing a well rounded communicators,” she added.
Sr. Mutsure expressed gratitude for the continued corporate support from CBZ, the Title Sponsor for the event.
“None of this would be without the unwavering support of our title sponsor, CBZ we are deeply grateful for a partnership that has continued to grow over the years.”
