ZANU-PF Harare Province ScalesUp Mobilization Drive to Secure More Parliamentary Seats Ahead of 2030 Elections

​HARARE — Following the passage of Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3 (CAA 3), the ZANU-PF Harare Provincial leadership has raised the momentum on its voter mobilization drive aimed at maximizing the party’s parliamentary representation ahead of the 2030 elections.

​The provincial push came to light during a leadership verification meeting held in Kuwadzana Zone 3, which drew a large turnout of district executive members.

​Addressing the executive members in Zone 3, ZANU-PF Harare Provincial Chairperson Godwills Masimirembwa explained that the ongoing verification exercise is structured to build a strong foundation for winning both municipal and parliamentary seats under the updated constitutional framework.

​”We have embarked on this verification exercise so that we increase the number of councillors and MPs in Zone 3,” said Masimirembwa. “You are all aware of the provisions of CAA 3, which provides for the election of the President by Members of Parliament. As a province, voting in more MPs means delivering more parliamentary votes for the President.”

​Masimirembwa also noted that increasing Harare’s parliamentary presence would enhance the province’s influence within central government, potentially paving the way for more cabinet appointments from the capital to address pressing urban challenges.

​”Securing more MPs in Parliament increases the likelihood of having more cabinet ministers emerging from Harare Province. This will directly help solve key issues currently affecting the province. Imagine having a Cabinet Minister responsible for Transport—that translates into the rehabilitation of roads and critical local infrastructure,” he added.

​Supporting the provincial strategy, ZANU-PF Provincial Commissar Voyage Dambuza stated that the verification drive is directly linked to upcoming community empowerment initiatives across the province.

​”After the successful completion of the verification process, our next move is to roll out socio-economic empowerment programmes for all members captured in the provincial database,” Dambuza said, commending the high turnout of zone leaders.
