Zelenskyy Condemns Russian Strikes on Ukrainian Civilians, Calls for Stronger Global DefenseKyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today slammed Russia’s “cynical” missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, drawing a stark contrast to Moscow’s past condemnation of strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The overnight assault, which included Iranian-made Shahed drones and potentially North Korean ballistic missiles, left at least seven people dead and damaged numerous residential buildings, including five apartment blocks in Kyiv alone.

“Moscow is silent after the Russian army carried out a completely cynical strike using Russian-Iranian Shahed drones and missiles against civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and other cities and communities of ours,” Zelenskyy stated, expressing his condolences to the victims’ families.

The widespread attacks impacted four regions, with a staggering total of 352 drones and 16 missiles launched. While Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted a significant number, not all were stopped, leading to tragic consequences.

A hospital in Bila Tserkva was also hit by a Shahed drone, resulting in one fatality there.Zelenskyy used the brutal attacks to highlight a broader threat, urging countries neighboring Russia, Iran, and North Korea to consider their own security in the face of this “coalition of murderers.”

During his visit to the United Kingdom today, the Ukrainian President plans to discuss the critical need for robust defense measures and a much stronger collective security framework with international partners. He will also be pushing for new, powerful steps to increase pressure on Russia and bring an end to the ongoing conflict.
