God Created Everyone for a Purpose: Emotional Scenes as Archbishop Ndanga Celebrates Birthday in the Gold City
By Tendai Keith Guvamombe
In the shimmering “Gold City” of Kadoma, the air was not merely filled with the scent of the earth’s riches, but with a celestial fragrance of gratitude and grace.
Last Saturday, the atmosphere was transformed into a sanctuary of joy as the Pentecost Christian Church International hosted a magnificent celebration in honor of the birthday of Archbishop Professor Johannes Ndanga.

As the sun cast its golden rays over the assembly on February 14th, the day was marked by a profound sense of divine appointment. The festivities were a vibrant tapestry of generations—from the silver-haired elders whose wisdom anchors the faith, to the energetic youths who represent its future—all unified in a chorus of “Happy Birthday.”At the heart of the celebration stood Archbishop Ndanga and his beloved wife, a vision of matrimonial harmony and shared purpose.
Their presence was magnetic, a testament to the verse in Psalm 128:3, “Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.” Together, they cut the magnificent cake, a symbol of life’s sweetness and the bread of fellowship shared among the saints.
In a poignant moment of reflection, Professor Ndanga delivered a message that resonated with the depth of a seasoned shepherd. “God created everyone for a purpose,” he remarked, his voice steady with conviction. “When you celebrate your birthday, it is a moment in which you reflect on the purpose for which God created you on earth.” His words echoed the sentiment of Jeremiah 1:5, reminding all present that before they were formed in the womb, a divine blueprint was already in place.

Archbishop Ndanga’s journey is etched into the very fabric of Zimbabwe’s religious and social landscape. His leadership is symbolized by the Crosier of Authority and the Ecumenical Shield, representing his role as a bridge-builder between the spiritual and the secular.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has occupied numerous ranks of high distinction, including:
Executive Grand President of the Apostolic Christian Council International (ACCI).
Founding President of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ)
Chairman of the International Commission of Religious Leaders (ICRL)
World Peace Ambassador for the Universal Peace Federation (UPF)
Patron and Advisor to various indigenous church bodies across Southern Africa
As the day drew to a close, it was clear that the celebration was not just for a man, but for the enduring spirit of service he embodies—a beacon of light in the Gold City and beyond.
