Dr. Tungwarara Champions Non-Partisan Development as Presidential Borehole Programme Hits Marondera

MARONDERA – In a striking demonstration of political maturity and non-partisan development, the government has intensified its Presidential Borehole Programme in Marondera, signaling a shift toward inclusive governance that transcends party lines.
Speaking at the launch, Presidential Advisor Dr. Paul Tungwarara emphasized that access to clean water is a fundamental right for all Zimbabweans, regardless of geographic location or political affiliation. Dr. Tungwarara articulated the foundational vision of His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, noting that sustainable national development begins with clean water and healthy children. This health, he explained, serves as the bedrock for strong schools and a robust society. By actively drilling boreholes in Marondera—an area that predominantly voted for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)—the administration is demonstrating a mature political evolution where national growth is prioritized over partisan division.
The spirit of cross-party cooperation was further mirrored by local leadership. On the same day, the CCC Mayor for Marondera, alongside several opposition councillors, publicly expressed their support for the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Bill (CAB3). This alignment suggests a growing consensus on critical legislative and developmental frameworks, fostering a rare atmosphere of political unity in a historically polarized environment.
Adding a poignant note of reconciliation and personal empowerment to the day’s events, Dr. Tungwarara extended a substantial philanthropic gesture to an opposition official. A CCC councillor from Mudzi was gifted a brand-new vehicle alongside the financial capacity required to completely rebuild his house.
This blend of infrastructure delivery, legislative alignment, and direct community support underscores a shifting paradigm in Zimbabwean politics. By ensuring that opposition-led constituencies are not left behind in the national development agenda, the initiative sets a new benchmark for governance. It reinforces the principle that state-led development must serve every citizen equally, transform communities, and ultimately foster a more unified nation.
