NSSA Champions Holistic Worker Rehabilitation at Bulawayo Centre

Harare, Zimbabwe – In a strong testament to its commitment to the well-being of Zimbabwean workers, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) is championing comprehensive rehabilitation services through its Workers Compensation Rehabilitation Centre in Bulawayo.

This was highlighted by Shepherd Muperi, NSSA Director of Social Security, during his remarks at the NSSA Media Cocktail held in Harare on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Muperi emphasized that the specialized facility goes beyond mere compensation for employment injuries, focusing instead on a “holistic human-centered care” approach. The Bulawayo centre offers a wide array of services designed to restore independence and improve the quality of life for injured workers and persons with disabilities.

These crucial services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, vocational training, and vital psychosocial support. The overarching goal, Muperi explained, is to facilitate the seamless integration of these individuals back into their communities and, where feasible, their reintroduction to the workplace.

The Workers Compensation Rehabilitation Centre stands as a beacon of NSSA’s dedication to not only addressing the immediate consequences of workplace incidents but also to fostering long-term recovery and societal inclusion.

This initiative underscores NSSA’s proactive role in ensuring that Zimbabwean workers receive the comprehensive support needed to regain their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to society. The centre’s success is a clear indicator of NSSA’s unwavering commitment to the holistic care and rehabilitation of the nation’s workforce.
