The gates to the Victoria Falls Rainforest have officially reopened to tourists following a brief precautionary closure by the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks).
In a press statement, ZimParks Spokesperson Mr. Luckmore Safuli explained that the temporary shutdown was prompted by elephants encroaching into the rainforest area.
”The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority wishes to inform members of the public, tourism stakeholders, and all visitors that the Victoria Falls Rainforest has reopened following a temporary closure undertaken as a precautionary safety measure after elephants entered the Rainforest area.”
The swift action was necessary to guarantee visitor safety within this strategic and iconic section of the majestic destination. Thanks to efficient wildlife management, the closure lasted for only two and a half hours.
