The Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Presidential Insult (ZAPI), Andrew Pasinawako, has issued a stern public statement exposing individuals who allegedly infiltrated the organization by masquerading as high-ranking members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA).
According to Pasinawako, these individuals, identified as Action Mupunza and Russell Hwati, falsely claimed to be affiliated with elite branches of the military, including Military Intelligence and the Special Air Services (SAS), in an attempt to gain influence within the group.
The duo reportedly approached ZAPI under the guise of offering strategic support to further the organization’s mission of protecting the President’s image.
However, leadership within ZAPI grew suspicious and launched an internal investigation. The findings revealed that Mupunza and Hwati had no official ties to the military units they claimed to represent.
Pasinawako characterized their actions as a calculated “name-dropping” exercise designed to leverage the prestige and authority of the ZNA to destabilize the project from within.Beyond the initial deception, the Chairperson alleged that the motive behind the infiltration was far more malicious.
Once integrated into the organization’s communication channels, the two individuals reportedly began a campaign of internal sabotage.
Pasinawako stated that they used the organization’s main group platforms to spread negative messaging and attempted to fabricate serious criminal allegations, including rape charges, against the Founder of ZAPI in a bid to tarnish the group’s reputation.
In his concluding remarks, Pasinawako emphasized that ZAPI maintains the highest respect for the Zimbabwe National Army and its leadership, clarifying that the organization’s grievance is solely with the two impostors who sought to bring the ZNA’s name into disrepute.
Both Mupunza and Hwati have been formally expelled from the organization. Pasinawako asserted that ZAPI remains undeterred by such “infiltrators” and will continue to proactively expose any agendas aimed at compromising their mission.
